Students at The Oldham Academy North can enjoy a wide variety of extracurricular activities, again
serving to enrich their experience and build confidence, independence and leadership skills.
Regular sports clubs, including football, cricket and netball, take place throughout the week,
both during and after school. Further activities designed to enhance students’ classroom learning
include Languages Club, Food Technology Club and ICT Club. Each activity allows students to
make full use of our state-of-the-art facilities, including sports hall, 3G sports pitch and computer provision.
TOAN News Reporters
TOAN News Reporters is a new scheme for Year 7 students, designed to teach them more about the media and to increase their knowledge of academy events. The students interview their older peers and members of staff, and publish their video clips on this page. Please check back regularly to discover our students’ latest activities.
The Eco-Club meets every Thursday at 3.15pm in Woodlands to allow students to participate in the Eco-Schools programme. The students in this club will be working towards achieving the Bronze Award for Eco Schools.
Some of the activities that the Eco-Club members are involved in are forming a committee to develop an environmental review for the academy and learning how to use a range of gardening equipment to grow fruit and vegetables that will be used in the schools canteen as part of there menu.
We are always looking for new recruits so feel free to come and get stuck in!
The Eco-club is ran by Mrs Godwin and supported by Mr Neild
