Young Enterprise Manchester Finals
On Wednesday 4th May, our Young Enterprise team Glassique took part in the Greater Manchester Final after qualifying from the Oldham Final in March. The team of twelve Year 10 students were invited to MMU Business and Law School along with ten other successful teams from across Manchester. They were required to set up a trade stand (pictured), take part in a rigorous interview with two sets of judges, and finally pitch their business in the form of a four minute presentation in front of a lecture theatre full of students and judges.
Despite being up against some very tough competition with students three years their senior, from sixth forms and grammar schools across the county, they were placed in the top five teams in the region, winning an award for the Best Customer Service.
The judge who presented the award, Rosie from My Fresh, was extremely impressed with the team and commended them on their resilience and professionalism, even through an ordeal of a broken glass centre piece and iPad on the day of the final! She was also extremely impressed with the quality and uniqueness of their products.
The team performance on the day was outstanding and I am incredibly proud of what they have achieved. On the back of their success, they have been invited to present their business at the Asian Business Dinner on Monday 16th May at the Eastern Pavilion.
