TOAN Hosts Primary Art Festival 2017

The Oldham Academy North hosted its annual Primary Arts Festival exhibition in partnership with Gallery Oldham this week, where several primary schools were invited in to celebrate all their hard work, creativity and effort.

The students had a wonderful afternoon together looking at their fantastic artwork inspired by this year's theme 'Past, Present, Future’. At the end, there was a presentation ceremony, where TOAN Headteacher Mr Davis rewarded students with art materials and sketchbooks for exceptional effort and stunning visual work.

The big winners were:

Best School - Coppice

Best KS2 class - Royton Hall 5T class

Best Individual's from Christ Church Primary and St. Anne's Primary

Effort Prize - Fir Bank Primary

Best Newcomer - Blackshaw Lane Primary

New Media Prize - Crompton Primary

Elaine Cooke, TOAN Deputy Learning Leader for Visual and Creative Arts, was delighted that so many primary local primary children got to take part in the event and showcase their artistic flair. She said: “The Primary Arts Festival was a lovely way to end the academic year, all being together to celebrate each other’s creativity and talent.”

Look out for the students’ banners of artwork – all of which will be on display at Gallery Oldham over the Summer Holidays!

Special thanks to the Art Department for hosting such an amazing event and fantastic workshops in the run up to the exhibition! #TeamTOAN
