TOAN Hosts MU Foundation Tournament

The Oldham Academy North recently played host to the Manchester United Foundation’s Year 8 Hub Football Tournament!

The event saw 14 schools from across Greater Manchester come together to compete on the Academy’s state-of-the-art 3G pitch. The dreadful weather failed in its attempts to spoil the day as the standard of football was fantastic, very competitive but also played in the right spirit. Congratulations go to Albion who were crowned champions after winning a closely battled final match against NCA.

Anthony Ensor, Manchester United Foundation Hub Development Officer, said: ‘A big thanks to Mr Davis for allowing us to host the event at TOAN and to the 10 or so pupils that supported us on the day with refereeing, recording results and escorting staff and players to and from the toilets to the pitches, as well as helping to clear up at the end of the day. Without them the tournament wouldn’t have run as smoothly as it did, they certainly did themselves and the academy proud!’
